On Wednesday 21st March, the UK experienced a horrific act of violence outside the Houses of Parliament in our capital city, London.

Whilst the Metropolitan Police are still working to confirm the final details of those involved, we have received no reports to suggest that either Erasmus students or ESN volunteers were involved in this incident. As the Metropolitan Police provides further information over the next few days, we encourage any of our erasmus or ESN students who feel affected, to seek support from their local sections or universities. If you would like to speak to a member of ESN UK, please feel free to contact us at info@esnuk.org.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who have been affected by this tragedy. We stand in solidarity with the words of the London Mayor Sadiq Khan, that “Londoners will never be cowed by terrorism”. We want our Erasmus students to continue to feel safe here, to call our home their home, and we will remain united in fighting against despicable acts such as this that affect our vibrant and multicultural capital.

If you have any information regarding the incident, or are worried about friends of family who may have been affected, you are urged to call the Metropolitan Police casualty bureau on (+44) 0800 056 0944.
